Nielsen Media Research, the famous TV ratings company, is the leading provider of television research in the United States and Canada.  Four times each year, Nielsen surveys people in the Boise Designated Market Area (DMA) to determine television-viewing habits. The Boise DMA includes 11 counties in Southwest Idaho and 1 county in Southeast Oregon. Nielsen’s resulting statistical report is called a rating book.
